ADHD
By Lyn

Clip to ScrapBook
He is being sent for testing from his ped. doctor. You have to really push for any type of testing before 2nd grade here. The other two students: one was a transfer/repeat K student from another county (he also has a physical
handicap) and the other boy attended our early prevention program and had his IEP from there, otherwise he wouldn't have one yet. My son is in 2nd grade here and I took him to another county to their testing center and he was diagnosed ADHD and a non-verbal learning disability. I had to pay for this on my own and I had him repeat first grade. He is now doing so much better on
his meds and knowing what was wrong with him. I don't want this boy to lose a whole year of education just because our school won't test him. I really feel that he is only going to succeed with deep tutoring one-on-one and I can't give him that. Mom sure isn't going to push for it.
