interview q's
By Lisa

Clip to ScrapBook

Not sure about the subtraction, but here are some common interview questions:

Why did you decide to become a teacher?
How will you approach parents with concerns and involve them?
How will you meet the needs of
students who learn differently?
What is your philosophy on classroom management?
How would you handle.....? (they'll give you a situation where there is a bothersome parents or child with a behavior problem or learning problem)
What would your typical schedule look like?
How will you teach phonics?
Do you enjoy sharing ideas with colleagues and gaining other perspectives
from them?
How will you integrate technology into the curriculum?
What are your beliefs about how children learn?
(or about teaching)
What kinds of assessments will you use?
Will you use assessments to guide your teaching?

Principals are looking for creativity, organization, good management of children, different methods of teaching, a belief that all children can learn, assessments being used to help decide what you teach and reteach, and involvement of parents.

Hope that helps! I'm sure I forgot a bunch though!

Lisa
