Fifth Grade Novels
By Brian C

Clip to ScrapBook
Always start the year off with Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. High interest/low vocabulary allows me to hone discussions, journal writing and comprehension responses. Because the book is short, carries a meaningful message, and is multiculturally appealing I can design critical thinking questions and multicultural activities. Great set-up for our next book, Julie of the Wolves, which challenges students on multiple critical thinking and multicultural levels.
