it's hard to tell, but if you have an OT that you can talk to and if she could do a brief assessment of the child she may be able to tell you if he's dysgraphic. I'm wondering if you give him 1/2 of a picture...like only the left side of say a pumpkin could he draw the other side to match? Try doing that...that's a real eye opener...and will tell the OT something too... Also, I'm wondering, do you teach a phonics based reading program? Maybe he just has not figured out that the sounds and letters go together to make words? What does the sped teacher think about all of this? She should have a lot of ideas on how to work with this little guy...
