I think those are all good references. They all realate to children somehow, and the volunteering reference shows initiative. Another option is to use a character reference, such as your church minister, pastor, etc. or someone else who has known you for a long time. I think I heard somewhere that references should go back a maximum of five years, except in special circumstances, so your references are good.
