Saxon phonics.....Yuck!

I also am suppose to teach Saxon phonics. Just as you said, I tried it two years and it is sooooooooooo time consuming, structured and boring for the students, to teach the whole program, plus my district also wants me to teach a basal reader seperate from the Saxon Phonics.
My DRA scores dropped. So, I am picking and choosing the best parts and leaving out the rest. I can already tell this years group is actually reading better than last years kids were at this time. As far as your parteners go..... teach how you feel will best benefit your class and if the others want the Saxon vote for it and continue to use the parts that work for you.
