replacing lost items
By km

Clip to ScrapBook
I personally do not allow students to bring in things. We share stories - similar to what Kerry was describing. Anyway, I think that if you do not have a written policy that items will not be returned when they are confiscated
then you should attempt to find the toy or replace it. If you have a written policy on confiscated toys then it would be another issue.

It does not sound like you enjoy Show and Tell and I could be wrong but I don't think you have been clear in your expectations for Show and Tell. If I were you I would stop Show and Tell and send a letter explaining that students are no longer allowed

to bring any objects from home. I would get a small box and use that as a place to store any confiscated items until the end of the year. If you do something like this be sure to make it clear to parents that anything confiscated will be kept until June or whenever.
I am not sure what you should do about the student store - I don't think I would cancel it but maybe send a note that you are not responsible for the money.... My general rule is that as long as I have not touched the money or toys or whatever, then it is not my responsibility.
