hi! I have been a teacher for 18 years. Fifteen years in first grade and the last 3 in 2nd grade. I teach in the East and with the new Federal regulations , particually-- NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND" I am finding that I am not teaching. I am testing, assessing, evaluating, monitoring and recording-record keeping the results. Our community has received a new math program ( the old consumable workbooks cost too much $25 per child)--- which is totally problem solving oriented with manipulatives--which I have to share with 2 other 2nd grade teachers.
