NOT in his JOB DESCRIPTION!
By Coach

Clip to ScrapBook
The problem is not with you, but with your Assistant Principal playing counselor. Unless distrust and low morale is their goal, he should not be entertaining teacher complaints on a whim from students and then relaying that
information onto you.
Since he obviously has a reputation among the students that he will listen to their BS, the thing you need to work on this year is to try and encourage all of your students to come talk to you if they have any concerns or questions.
This won't stop all of them from running to the assistant principal with their nonsense, but it might cut down how many do.
Otherwise,
you can expect phone calls like this more regularly as the year progresses.
Good luck and maybe you can bring your assistant principal a cute nurse uniform. Tell him that since he seemed to enjoy being the counselor so much, you thought he might as well go out for school nurse while he's at it...
