I Understand
By Kerry

Clip to ScrapBook
I have a kid like this every now and again. It helps to remind myself that kids like this have low self-esteem and the best thing to do is treat them the same you would with any child. Also talking to the kid about his feelings might help and kindly discuss with him how his comments and certain behaviors can make others uncomfortable and brainstorm some different responses and actions that are less abrasive. You could also talk to him about invading others' personal space with such comments and behaviors and what might be some better ways to ask questions and conduct himself so he's part of the team and not always feeling like he has to compete.
