Middle School?

I'm surprised that they are asking you to sub in middle school if you're certification only covers K-5. I think it's completely up to you if you want to continue subbing in the middle school...although it's not exactly the experience I'm assuming you're looking for. I would politely ask the person who calls you, if it is normal to be called for middle school if you are not certified to teach there. You also never have to feel bad about turning down a sub job...if you are uncomfortable with middle school...request that you only be called for elementary sub jobs. It might also help to get your name on a sub list for a different district as well...your chances of being called will be greater. Good Luck!
