YOUR child comes first

I understand you problem. I agree , your child comes first. It may be a blessing in disguise, you will probably have at least 8 mo before you can look for work again? That is precious time with a two year old. Personally I think mom should do whatever they can to wait until kids are at least 4 or 5 before going to/back to work. I know this is not a popular opinion, but I did it with mine, and I am SO glad I did. Your class will adjust, they have only known you for a few months. Eventhough you have gotten aquainted they will get to know the new teacher fast too.
