I would definately separate him from the other children when he hits. Tell him that he can't be with his friends if he is going to hurt them, then walk away. Give lots of love and attention to the child he hurt. You want him to see that hitting and screaming is not going to get him any attention. This won't work right away, just keep doing it. You will have to keep a close eye on him, you don't want him to hurt other children. Parents will start to complain, then that's another problem you'll have to deal with! Good luck!
