Clip to ScrapBook
We do a unit and as part of it we start with a blue circle to represent Earth then have a U.S. map that fits on the circle of Earth (this all fit on a large piece of construction paper.) We then cut out (from Ellison machine) our state and glue it onto the map...then we put a star where our city is on the state cut out.
For the kids to visualize before that we stretch our arms out as far as we can and say "Earth" then bring them in some "United States" bring them in a little more "Ohio" then hands touching "Fairfield". Hope this helps!
