practice, practice, practice...

This is my first year of teaching, so feel free to totally disreguard my comments. I walked in to teach school two weeks into the year. I was introduced to my class the Friday I was hired, and I started teaching the beginning of the next week. My class is very talkative, but in the hallways, we step up behavior a notch. (Now to just keep them in "hallway mode" all day!) The only thing I did was keep them practicing. My first day of school, we had to go back to class four times before we made it all the way to the cafeteria without any talking. The second and third days were similar. Since then, I haven't had to take them back once for either talking in line, or not being in a straight line.But the first day you sure feel mean.
