I went walking

We use this story for three different outcomes. We first talk about the pattern and innovate the story like the first person who responded to your email. Then we use animal cutouts from the story to paste them in the correct sequence on construction paper. We copied a little picture of the boy and pasted him on a popsicle stick. We used the animal sequence and the little boy to retell the story in our own words. The last day we reread the story focusing on the ing at the end of the words. There is a another story written and illustrated by the same people called Let's Go Visiting. It follows a similar pattern.
