homework

Clip to ScrapBook
One thing that has helped me is to reward them. I do this in two ways. If everyone in the class turns in their assignmnet on time then they all get 4 animal crackers or a piece of candy. At other times I have them spell
out a word like movie, popcorn, no homework, extra recess, etc. They add a letter for each day that everyone turns in their howmeork. Once the "mystery" word is spelled they get the reward.
Since you are having such a big problem it may be difficult to get a day when the whole class has turned them in. In that case, I would give food to the individual students that bring their
homework & spell the word at the same time for when they all bring it in.
I also keep a list & when a child has reached three missing assingments per subject, they recieve a detention & they must finish the work during the detention. If we have a really "bad" week or two, my partner and I show a movie in one room for students that are finsihed with homework & have the other students go to the other room & finish their work.
Good Luck!
