2 adults in charge
By jx

Clip to ScrapBook
Two adults in charge can confuse the students. Some student teachers resent a sub who constantly gets on the students all the time. I have heard about power struggles between subs and student teachers. Most student teachers at the Middle and High school level prefer the substitute to be seen and not heard. Teachers should discuss with the student teacher and leave in their plans how much they expect either person to perform. I think student teachers need a chance to teach without the regular teacher coming in all the time! I try to give the student teacher some leverage. Unless the behavior is awful, I let the student teacher do what he or she feels best.
