fluency
By srs

Clip to ScrapBook
Personally, I do not do a "cold" read because I just don't think it is fair to time and evaluate such a reading. If I want to read something aloud fluently and with expression, I practice! I have also timed myself on some of these passages and 124 wpm is pretty darn fast!
Wouldn't you rather have a child read smoothly and with expression rather than zipping along trying to break a record?!? That is why I was curious as to how other schools do "fluency" testing. I try to work within the confines of the almighty Open Court and my district....
