You are sooooooo right about the comprehension exams. They often have more than one answer, especially if you use kid logic. There are other drawbacks to Harcourt, as well. The stories are interesting and many of the activities are fun. But I believe it is weak in spelling and phonics, so I create my owns pelling lists.
