i've used them in the past with my students and summer campers. i plan on using them again this year with my third graders. but here's something that i would do differently this time.

before actually dissecting the pellets, i would take the kids to the lab and chekc otu the website www.frogguts.com they have this whole dissection site and one of the choices is an owl pellet. os the kids are to take the pellet apart and then they have to match the bones to the skeleton. i thought it would be a good introductory activity to use with my kids, so i'm goign to try that this year.....
