I'm not so sure!!!

I'm not so sure I agree with, "Just sit back and relax," and let them do the job. I remember many times as a student teacher when a sub was in and they expected me to do everything...I wasn't getting paid. I agree that if a S.T. is already up to teaching almost full day, then that's a different story, they expect to teach.

It's nothing against you, but there are many subs that I've met that have that same idea about sitting and relaxing and that's not what you're there for. Even if a student teacher doesn't want assistance, facilitate the room and work with small groups. I remember how frustrating it was for me when a sub would come in and sit at the teachers desk and read a book for six hours. just keep that in mind!!!
