A Necessity
By Krissy

Clip to ScrapBook
Portfolios are an absolute necessity in my opinion. This is a compilation of everything you have done to become a teacher. Every portfolio will look different and its' contents will vary depending on the level (elementary
or secondary). I am at the elementary level so mine actually is more on the cuter side and that is my preference. Here's what's in mine:

-Cover Letter and Resume
-Table of Contents
-Certifications
-Test scores and relevant documents
-Reference Letters
-Philosophy of Education
-Classroom Management Philosophy
-Student Teaching Evaluations
-Lesson Plans (only

a few)
-Copies of students work (or a picture if it was to big to fit)
-Lots of pictures...the more the better. This is where you can really show off your hard work. I included pictures of class lessons, bulletin boards, finished projects, students working on projects, etc...

I chose a paper with a border throughout my portfolio, with the exception of my cover letter, resume, references and professional documents. I found it to be cute and it stuck with a theme. I got creative with the pictures section. That is the only part of a portfolio that I beleive is a scrapbook and you should get as creative as possible. I included captions, stickers (if relelvant), etc...

Remember, a portfolio shows you off to a prospective employer. You want to stand out from all other candidates...Be Original!!!
