parents that do schoolwork

I too have a student whose parents do his work (sixth grade) and sometimes will do it, then have him copy it so it's in his handwriting. His spelling came in done in a different handwriting, so I wrote "Please do your own work" and had him do it over.What I am wondering is why you allowed his poster to be submitted into the contest and/or why the fire department did not recognize that it was not age-appropriate (i.e. done "too" well). It is unfortunate that some parents think they are helping their children by taking over for them!
