It is called burn out By Lauren

Last year was my first year of teaching and I had a K-1 combination. To make it worse, I had no Kindergarten resources (a reading or a math program). My first grade resources were very limited. I had low Kinders and very| high first graders. It was very hard. I worked twenty-four hours. Some nights I didn't sleep. I had no one to come in and help me. My best advice for you is to keep it simple. I tried to do everything last year. When you are feeling like Dr. Jekyll . . you are suffering from burn out. Remember that this is your first year . . your classroom will not be the same as the teacher that | | has been teaching 2 or 10 years. They had to work their way to that point and you will too. You need to set up routines in your classroom . . . . if you are planning every single moment of your day then you do not have routines. Have activies throughout the day that the kids do every day. Activities that don't require preparation (f.ex. have the students work on a daily journal). This year is all about classroom management. Next year you will get to do a little more. Every year is a little easier. Do not burn yourself out.
