Go for It!!!
By Mary Ann

Clip to ScrapBook
Don't be intimidated! Try new things for yourself. Not every teaching strategy works for every teacher. To each his own. Be sure to share your ideas, but don't expect anyone to take them. It's a give and take situation.
Take what you want, leave what you don't, or modify ideas to meet your own needs. Some teachers, unfortunately, become very competitive with their peers and want to be seen as the "better teacher." Do what's best for your kids! You have to try for yourself what you think will work for you to know if it does really work -don't just take someone else's word. Your peer teacher will get
over it. It may take a while - she has a bruised ego. By the way I'm a new teacher too (2nd year in K. -take advice, but don't let others run your classroom!) Good luck!
