marble jar
By Laurie

Clip to ScrapBook
Hello,

I use a marble jar in my 2nd/3rd grade class. It is in connection to my behavior charts. Everyday that a student keeps their worm away from one of the four behavior apples, they get a sticker on their chart. Each
day the entire class gets a sticker they get one marble in the jar. I use a little glass jar that I bought at Walmart ant the marble rocks you put in vases. I started out with 10 marbles as the goal and now we are on 25.

With first grade anytime the whole class is on task acknowledge it right away and tell them they earned a marble. You may end up giving several a day and can set a limit

for if they reach 5 marbles a day they each get a special sticker or a piece of candy or set a goal for the week and at the end of the week they can spend extra time doing centers or doing games and puzzles. Good Luck!
