allergies

I have a friend whose child is allergic to peanuts and it can be deadly. I have a student in my room whose mother told me that he was allergic to eggs. He couldn't sit near or beside anyone eating them. When I asked her about eggs in cookies or cakes she told me that those were fine. It was only scrambled, fried and hard-boiled. Has anyone heard of this or does her son just not like to eat eggs for breakfast?
