depends

Clip to ScrapBook
We have had total bans in the past if we had a student with a severe allergy to peanuts. If a student however only has a reaction if they eat peanuts then we may only do the ban within his or her classroom.

We send notes home explaining the situation and as far as lunch is concerned we have a hot-lunch program at our school. However if a child brought their own lunch and it was a peanut-butter sandwich they would be sent to another room to eat their lunch and then asked to wash their hands carefully. Most families are more than willing to compromise and not send items with peanuts to school.
