Who said anything about short nervous paces? Why are you so nervous anyway? If you are nervous yes the kids will pounce on that. I don't know what class you have everbeen in that sitting encourages them to sit. I have
never seen this happen. What I typically see when I supply teacher decides to take the "sitting" approach is a class that is not on task or producing quality work and there is typically a line up around the desk of those waiting for attention. Kids are kids on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (I've heard they are on the weekends as well) and a students that sees an opportunity

to misbehave due to a LACK OF PRESENCE ...WILL. I did not say "do it this way" so stick words in someone elses mouth. What I said I meant. I have never seen a sitting sub as an effective sub and I have always seen the reflection of this in the quality of work received the next day. How's that for a "blanket pronouncement!"
