DEAR

In my district everyone has DEAR in the morning when we enter. My class reads and does short book reviews (Title, author, favorite part, rating, ending) on every book we read. We have class and individual reading goals. We do proofreading of two sentences every day with the grammar component of our reading program. I do them together. They are good at finding my mistakes but it is much harder for them to find their own. Same with many adults--which is why we have spell check.
