no naps...
By Jenna

Clip to ScrapBook
I teach full day, 8:30-3:05, with no nap time. We do have a long lunch break, about an hour, which is also my lunch, so I am not in the room. Some kids take that long to eat, others are done in 5 minutes. After eating, it is “quiet” time – the kids can lay on the floor and look at books or magazines. They can sleep if they want to.

This seems to work well, as many of the children no longer need naps. At the beginning of the year, one or two will fall asleep, and I wake them up for playground time, which is right after lunch. This gets them all going again!
