Have you ever read Miss Rumphius? You could compare and contrast how Johnny Appleseed spread his seeds to grow apples and how Miss Rumphius spread flower seeds to make the world more beautiful.. I always have my students go out and sprinkle seeds like Miss Rumphius did. Last year we spread grass seed since it is easy to buy a lot for a few dollars.
