My sub story
By Amanda K.

Clip to ScrapBook
My worst sub story happened last year. I usually hand-pick my subs, so these things aren't a problem usually because I know several awesome subs. But, last year I got one who left the room nice and neat, left a great sub
note about how everything had been completed, etc. I was very impressed until I started talking to the kids.

He actually did not complete everything. On the math test, he gave everyone the answers so they all got perfect scores. He also gave them an hour of free time at the end of the day. My neighbor teacher said that she had never heard that much noise coming from my room. I

guess it exceeded class party noise levels. And I had to deal with comments from the students for a month. It was things like, "Ralph (they called him by his first name, too) let us have free time whenever we want!" "Ralph just gave us the answers to everything. How come you don't?" "Ralph let us out early. How come we can't today?" Needless to say, I spread the word about Ralph to all the other teachers in our building pretty quickly.
