I made up a social story about a child that stole and included in this story a situation of a child taking something that meant a lot to this particular child - I did it as a story as a class as a whole and asked for the students input. This particular child responded very appropriately to questions posed during our discussions. Also understand that stealing may be a need of a different sort a cry or plea for attention.
