schedule
By Brooke S.

Clip to ScrapBook
I have a challenging group of students this year, so I have been experimenting with our schedule quite a bit. I finally came up with one this week that I think I will like. It has changed some since I last posted.
Basic
Day:

8:10-8:45 Students arrive, read and take AR tests
8:45-9:00 Meet on the Floor/ Read Aloud/Calendar
9:00-9:45 Science or Social Studies
9:45-10:45 Math instruction
10:45-11:05 Rocket Math (timed math facts)
11:05-11:30 Orten (phonics/spelling instruction)
11:30-12:00 Lunch
12:00-12:25 Writing Mini-lesson (grammar, etc.)
12:25-1:15 P.E. and Snack
1:15-1:40

Finish Writing
1:40-2:40 Reading Instruction/Centers
2:40-2:50 Dismissal

I have always taught reading in the morning, but my class this year has had a hard time in the afternoons, but they are great at centers so I switched it to afternoons. Now they are good at mornings and afternoons.
