sick
By Fran

Clip to ScrapBook
The first Grade 4 child to tell me he felt sick vomited before he could finish his sentence. If they tell me that they are going to "barf", I send them immediately to the nurse.I would prefer to be yelled at by the nurse(which has never happened) than to have to wait(with 21 remaining kids) for a custodian to clean up the very smelly mess.
Also, I have found that sometimes the teacher does not leave the health/allergy list available. When I tried to persuade a 7th grader to stick it out until the end of the period,I found out from an assistant that the girl was diabetic and knew that she must see the nurse when feeling tired.
So, unless a child tells me he needs to see the nurse for a bandage for a scrape, I never stop him from going.
