Students become the authors
By Krissy

Clip to ScrapBook
I have found it very beneficial to have both the first and fifth graders create their own books. We actually have blank hard cover books for the students to publish their work in and illustrate each page. Then we designate a time usually twice a month (once for first and once for fifth) for the students to share their books. I have seen such wonderful stories from both grade levels and the children absolutely love it. Even if the entire first and fifth grade classes want to participate, you can buddy up one first and one fifth grade class. It really is worth it.
