I would take some time and explain your rules, esp. when you can not be disturbed. Make sure whatever they are doing they understand and then. DON'T respond unless you think it is an emergency. Tell them at this time in the day you will not hear them.Personally I think it is a good idea for the whole day. Often I hear my name, and have no idea where it is coming from. Hands raised is a much better idea, but sometimes they just HAVE to be quiet for a few minutes. They CAN do it!
