I use "Teaching Students to Read Nonfiction" and "Content Area Reading Skills" (both by Scholastic) in my 4th grade class. I use SS and science for guided reading lessons. I also use these content areas to reinforce the reading skills I have taught. For example I am teaching the Revolutionary War-cause/effect, fact/opinion, etc. works great with this unit!
