I try to give students adequate time to finish work at school. Any work that is done outside of school is just "practice" and not graded because I have no control over if it is student work or parent work. I base benchmark assessments only on things completed at school. It is amazing how many less headaches I have! I still notify parents of missing "practice"
assignments, but I just check kids off for turning them in and do a couple items for spot check.
