Free Periods

I often tell the Secretary at the few middle schools that I work at that I am willing to cover other classes during the free periods of the teacher that I am subbing for. One of those schools frequently has me covering for| other absent teachers w/o a substitute. I would however prefer to cover other classes during the period that the other teachers have team meeting since I am not allowed to be present at team meetings. I would like to have the prep period free to have a break & to let the other teachers on the team know how my day has been thus far. Also I do not like it when I am misused and/or abused. | |
I do not like it when I am working almost non-stop throughout the day. At the elementary level I get 60 - 90 minutes free for lunch and/or recess and while the class is at specials. I deserve the same when working at middle schools.Substitute teachers are NOT robots! BSJ
