Incentive chart?
By Reese

Clip to ScrapBook
Hello. I work at a school that is chalk full of behavior problems. WE have abehavior specialist that has great ideas for incentive charts to help children with their "problems". Anyway, I have a similiar student, only
he is low academically. Our mascot is a Panda. He has a Panda sheet in a folder that has like a dot-to-dot all around the panda. When I notice he is on task he gets to "connect a dot" We started by making a goal to get all the way around the panda but that was too far of a goal so I marked every third dot with a star. When he reaches his goal he gets to go spend time with the behavior
specialist. (PS he needs a positive male role model in his life) BUt you could have your student choose his reward, such as computer time, lunch with you, whatever will get him motivated to connect the dots. Mom could even reinforce at home with "mommy time" or extra 5 minutes of playstation for every dot connected. There are countless possibilities. HOpe this helps. Sorry so long.
