lots of 'centers' By Rachel

Because of our new curriculum in my district, I have 2 different times of the day when we do 'learning labs,' and I do small groups. I have a math learning lab in the morning, with math activities, and a reading learning| lab in the afternoon with literacy activities. I leave 30 minutes to do the 'fun centers' as they came to be called at the end of the day. If children did not stay on task they are unable to do them. The 'fun centers' rarely change, which I regret, but they seem not to tire of them. Sometimes, when the class is particularly good, I will let them do 'fun centers' instead of learning labs, | | because the ll's last for the entire week and they are very much project oriented, meaning something must be accomplished at the labs. Hope this gives you an idea to build off of.
