Bonnie, I agree that it's a little strange. However, I talked to the mother today and her husband takes phone calls from school VERY SERIOUSLY ... a lot of privileges are revoked, including threat of a planned birthday party cancellation. He gets really upset and the student gets nervous and scared. I guess that's a whole other issue, but I don't want involvement in it.
