Clip to ScrapBook
Actually, my kids have really enjoyed our impromtu hurricane lessons. Most of us were without power for a week with Hurricane Frances. Some kids lost part of their homes or had flooding in their homes, but everyone seems
to be taking it well because it's happening to everybody. We are talking about it a lot, which helps.
For Jeanne I lost power for 24 hours and had tons of rain, wind, and downed trees. Not as bad as Frances by a long shot (out of school for a week!) We had no school today and don't know if we'll have it tomorrow. Many of us down here are suffering from hurricane stress (seeing a storm
coming and just not knowing where it's going and what damage will result -- it's more stressful than teaching has ever been.)
My heart goes out to those on the coast who survived Charley and Frances, but lost what they had left in Jeanne. I really can't imagine. How did others fare with Jeanne?
