choosing an operation
By Lynette

Clip to ScrapBook
Finally found the worksheet I was looking for! Sorry, it took so long. I have this in a word document chart that I could probably email you if you wanted. Not sure what's listed above but here are the phrases I have for
each operation.
Add: How much? How much altogether? total find the sum combine in all
Subtract: find the difference how much more? how many are left?
Multiply: (always with equal groups) how much? how much altogether? ___ groups of ____ find the product total combine
Divide: separate into equal groups find the quotient
find the remainder
Estimate: about how much around how much round the addends and find the sum
round the factors and find the product
find a close amount
get a close guess

Sorry if it's kind of long! Hope it's useful to somebody!
