Johnny Appleseed
By patsi

Clip to ScrapBook
I like to read the story to my class and familiarize them so that they can re-tell the story to other classes (Pre-K) along with basic costume or student-made costumes.I also like to do an apples unit."Plant" a large tree
branch into plaster of paris and decorate seasonally; begining with apples.Science/math lessons consist of taste tests, graphing color/seeds/wt.of apples brought in by the students.Remind parents to label types of apples for children.Art:fold a blue construction paper lengthwise and fold into fourth (lengthwise).Draw the apple tree during the four seasons.IF you are brave trying make papier
mache apples with a parent's help.Make applesauce or baked apples. To culminate the event play the old game of "bobbing for apples".Perhaps visit an apple farm if you are near one.
