List your education first, including whatever you are going through to get your certification (put that before your college degree, everything should be in reverse chronological order). That way, the first thing they see| is that you are working on your teaching credential. Make sure you include the Anticipated Date of Completion. List your work experience second, and the first thing you should list is your student teaching job. List the most recent journalism job so you can show what you were doing before went into teaching, and make sure you do include the Sunday School and daycare experience. If | | the Sunday school teaching was a volunteer thing, list it under a separate "Community Involvement" section.Your cover letter should definitely highlight why you are leaving your profession for teaching, and how your experiences working with children have led you to make this choice.
