Spelling Centers
By Misty1st

Clip to ScrapBook
We practice spelling words in our centers. They write them 3X each in their best handwriting (boring but my kids really need handwriting practice!), we spell them with magnet letters, we stamp them with rubber stamps, we
find them with "word detective" windows in our big books. We also use our finger in a small sandbox to write them, we can do rainbow words, where the kids draw around the letter shape with different colors for vowels and consonants. We use letter tiles to spell the words, kinda like scrabble. Fishing is fun too. Write the letters on cards and run a staple through them or put a paper
clip on them. With a dowel and string tied to a magnet, they can fish for the letters to spell their words. I hope these help! I've used them with my kids and their spelling tests are really showing improvement!!
